Carriers charge you dearly for heavy and bulky shipments. On Shopify, recover it with a Per weight cart fee gated by a cart total weight condition (for example, 0.80 per kilogram once the cart reaches 20 kg, or a per-pound rate from 44 lb), or a per-product weight fee that charges only bulky items. Light orders pay nothing; heavy orders pay in proportion.

Pounds and ounces
Pick the unit you think in. The rate unit (per kilogram, gram, ounce or pound) and the unit of the cart weight threshold (kg, g, oz or lb) are chosen separately, and product weights in any unit are converted. A US store can run "0.35 per pound once the cart reaches 50 lb" without converting anything.
Tiers with a formula
Need steps rather than a straight rate? A cart Formula fee can express tiers: if(cart_weight_lb >= 100, 0.25 * cart_weight_lb, if(cart_weight_lb >= 50, 10, 0)) charges nothing below 50 lb, a flat 10.00 from 50 lb, and 0.25 per pound from 100 lb (120 lb: 30.00). For "per started kilogram" on bulky items, use a per-product formula such as 1.50 * ceil(weight_kg) * qty.
Variants of the pattern
- Only bulky products: a per-product weight fee with a collection or tag condition charges furniture by its weight while accessories stay free.
- Flat oversized fee: a fixed per-product fee on tag oversized for items that are big rather than heavy.
- Title conventions: if titles already contain OVERSIZED, the product title condition needs no retagging.
- Cap it: a maximum under Fee limits (optional) (say 49.00) keeps extreme orders friendly.
- Only products in a category: the product category condition limits a per-product weight fee to, say, furniture, without tagging.
