Eco-participation on Shopify

Last updated: July 18, 2026 · Barèmes per Ecosystem and Ecomaison

France requires sellers of electronics, furniture, and other covered products to display the éco-participation separately from the price. On Shopify, model it as a fixed per-product fee by product type, limited to customer country FR, with the amount from your eco-organism's barème. For furniture categories priced by weight, use the per-kilogram fee type.

The app's eco-participation preset creates this rule ready to review. Create one fee per barème category so amounts stay correct per product family.

Weight-based furniture fees

Ecomaison's furniture barème scales with weight. Switch the calculation to per kilogram, keep the product type condition (for example Furniture), and enter the per-kg rate: a 40 kg wardrobe then carries a proportionally larger eco fee than a 4 kg chair, automatically from your variant weights.

Why compliance needs a line item

  • The display duty ("répercussion visible") wants the fee shown to the customer, not absorbed. Community threads ask exactly for "eco fees displayed on invoices"; a labeled line item is that display.
  • With the ECOPART SKU, your eco-organism declaration amounts are one report filter away.
Not tax or legal advice. Category mapping and amounts come from your eco-organism's current barème; verify before publishing.
