FlexiFeesHazmat handling fee for perfume and aerosols

If shipping perfume, hair spray or other aerosols costs you extra, add a Fixed cart fee, for example 4.95 once per order, that applies when any of these match: the product category is Perfumes & Colognes or Hair Sprays, or the product is tagged aerosol. Orders without such items pay nothing.

Why a category plus a tag?
Shopify's taxonomy has categories such as Health & Beauty > Personal Care > Cosmetics > Perfumes & Colognes and Hair Sprays, and a parent category covers its subcategories (attars, body mists, colognes). Products that are aerosols in other categories, such as spray paint or deodorant sprays, are easier to catch with a tag. With Any condition, either one adds the fee.
Per item instead of per order
For a charge per hazardous item, use a Per product fee with a Fixed amount, which is multiplied by quantity. A per-product fee always requires all of its conditions, so it cannot combine the category and the tag with "any"; create one fee for the categories and one for the tag, and make sure no product carries both, or it is charged twice.
Good to know
- The product category condition needs the Category field set on your products.
- With Any condition, every condition can add the fee on its own. To also limit the fee by country, use All conditions with one product condition plus the country, or a second fee.
- Carrier rules for dangerous goods are set by your carriers and shipping regulations; FlexiFees only adds the fee you configure.
